Gun attack targets Iraqi Turkmen lawmaker’s home in Kirkuk

No casualties reported after unidentified assailants open fire on residence of Iraqi Turkmen Front member of parliament; party leader calls for urgent investigation

BAGHDAD/ISTANBUL (AA) – Unidentified gunmen launched an attack on the residence of Gulsel Mohammed, a prominent lawmaker from the Iraqi Turkmen Front (ITF), in the northern city of Kirkuk.

No casualties were reported, according to initial information.

ITF Chairman Mehmet Seman Aga strongly condemned the attack in a statement.

Aga described the attack as a serious effort to destabilize security and stability in Kirkuk province and a blatant breach of the law.

He urged local security authorities to initiate an immediate and transparent investigation, identify those responsible and ensure they are brought to justice.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
