Despite suffering damage from Russian air strikes, Orthodox Christian Monastery on steep right bank of Siverskyi Donets River offers shelter to civilians

DONETSK OBLAST, Ukraine (AA) - The Holy Mountains Lavra of the Holy Dormition, an Orthodox Christian monastery in Ukraine’s Donetsk region, houses a memorial for soldiers who lost their lives during World War II.

The Lavra is affiliated with the Russian Patriarchate.

Located on the steep right bank of the Siverskyi Donets River, the monastery, despite suffering damage from Russian air strikes, offers shelter to civilians.
