ATHENS (AA) - A fire broke out in a hotel in the central Greek town of Kalambaka on Monday morning, killing one person and injuring several others due to heavy smoke, local media reported.
The victim was identified as the 55-year-old owner of the hotel, which was hosting 26 guests when the fire broke out, the public broadcaster ERT reported.
It added that at least 10 people were taken to Trikala General Hospital after being exposed to heavy smoke. Seven of them have respiratory problems.
The cause of the incident remains unknown and will be investigated by the competent authorities.
