ANKARA (AA) - India has carried out successful flight trials of the first-of-its-kind naval anti-ship missile, said the Defense Ministry on Wednesday.
The country’s Defense Research and Development Organisation and Indian Navy on Tuesday carried out successful flight trials from an integrated test range in eastern India.
“The trials demonstrated the missile’s capability against ship targets while launched from an Indian naval sea king helicopter,” the ministry said.
The missile uses an “Indigenous Imaging Infra-Red Seeker for terminal guidance,” it added.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also noted: “The tests for man-in-loop features is unique as it gives the capability of in-flight retargeting.”
