India test-fired an intermediate-range ballistic missile, according to the Defense Ministry.
It said the Agni 5 was test-fired from the integrated test range in Chandipur in eastern Odisha state.
“The launch validated all operational and technical parameters,” said the ministry.
The test was carried out under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command.
The nuclear-capable Agni-5 is a surface-to-surface ballistic missile capable of striking targets with a high degree of accuracy at ranges up to 5,000 kilometers (3,106 miles).
The test comes after several missiles that the South Asian nation successfully tested last month.
