Chopper crash kills Indian, Bhutanese pilots

NEW DELHI (AA) - The Indian Army said its helicopter crashed in Bhutan on Friday killing two pilots.

“In an unfortunate incident, an Indian Army Helicopter has crashed at 1 p.m. near Yongphulla in Bhutan. The helicopter went out of radio and visual contact soon after 1 p.m. The helicopter was on way from Khirmu (Arunanchal) to Yongphulla on duty," Indian Army Spokesman Col. Aman Anand said in a statement.

The deceased were identified as Lt-Col. Rajneesh Parmar from the Indian Army and Capt. Kalzang Wangdi from the Royal Bhutan Army.

Bhutanese pilots have been training with the Indian Army since 2014.
