ISTANBUL (AA) – Iran recalled Poland’s chargé d'affaires in Tehran, Marcin Wilczek, on Monday after comments by Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski about the “dangers” posed by the Iranian-Russian cooperation.
A Foreign Ministry statement said Wilczek was summoned “in response to the biased and baseless remarks made by the Polish foreign minister against Iran.”
According to the ministry, Tehran conveyed its protest to the Polish side during a meeting with the envoy.
According to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, Sikorski made the remarks during an event in Washington on Feb. 21, saying “the world should be aware of the dangers of Iran-Russia cooperation.”
