ANKARA (AA) – An Iranian television anchorwoman has been arrested in the U.S., according to Iran’s English-language Press TV on Wednesday.
Marzieh Hashemi was taken into custody for “unspecified offenses” at St. Louis Lambert International Airport, the television said.
The broadcaster said the anchorwoman was on a visit to her family when she was arrested and was sent to a detention facility in Washington DC.
No official charges have been pressed against the Iranian anchorwoman.
There was no official statement from U.S. authorities on the issue.
