ANKARA (AA) - Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian agreed on Friday to enhance coordination in addressing regional and international developments.
According to a statement from the Iraqi News Agency INA, Rashid held a phone conversation with Pezeshkian, during which they discussed bilateral relations.
Both leaders addressed several regional and international issues, reaffirming the importance of continued cooperation between Iraq and Iran.
"The two sides also agreed to activate coordination in dealing with regional and international developments, contributing to political stability and reducing tensions in the region.
It was reported earlier this week that Iranian-backed militia groups in Iraq are prepared to disarm to avert the threat of an escalating conflict with the US Trump administration.
