BAGHDAD (AA) - Baghdad has recently repatriated scores of children of Daesh members to Turkey, Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council announced Wednesday.

In a statement, council spokesman Abdul-Sattar Bayraktar said that 188 children of Daesh members had been handed over so far -- under the supervision of UNICEF officials -- to the Turkish authorities.

“With the help of Turkey’s Family, Labor and Social Services Ministry, we hope to eventually bring all these children home to their families,” Turkish Ambassador to Iraq Fatih Yildiz said in earlier statements.

According to the diplomat, Ankara also hopes to eventually repatriate female ex-members of the terrorist group.
