RABAT (AA) - An Islamic body in Morocco called on the international community Thursday to fulfill its responsibility to stop Israel’s oppressive and racist policies towards Palestinians and Muslim holy places.
In a statement, the Council on Aiding the Issues of the Ummah condemned Israel’s policies and criticized countries participating in the Ministerial to Promote a Future of Peace and Security in the Middle East in Warsaw on Feb. 13-14 for normalizing relations with Israel.
The council, which is affiliated with the Al-Adl Wal-Ihsane (Justice and Benevolence) Islamic movement, also called for a "Friday of anger" in support of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestinians in Jerusalem.
On Monday, the Israeli authorities sealed the Al-Rahma gate on the east side of the mosque, preventing hundreds of Muslim worshippers from entering Al-Aqsa, and detained several Palestinians inside the mosque complex.
The following day, they reportedly reopened the gate temporarily.
