Israel: 3rd Hezbollah tunnel found on Lebanon border

Israeli forces placed explosive devices inside tunnel

JERUSALEM (AA) - Israeli army on Tuesday announced it had discovered a third tunnel leading into Israeli territory from southern Lebanon, according to a military statement.

“The attack tunnel is under the IDF's control and does not pose an imminent threat,” the Israeli army said.

The Israeli forces placed explosive devices inside the tunnel, the statement added.

Last week, the Israeli army launched "Operation Northern Shield" to “expose and thwart” cross-border tunnels allegedly dug by Hezbollah along the border with Lebanon.

In 2006, Israel launched a war against Hezbollah during which at least 1,200 people, mostly Lebanese civilians, were killed
