JERUSALEM (AA) - Israeli authorities demolished an Arab Bedouin village in Negev desert for the 114th time Wednesday morning, residents said.
Aziz Al-Touri, a member of the Local Committee for the Defense of Al-Araqib, said police arrived early in the morning and destroyed the homes.
"Imagine, soldiers come armed with weapons and equipment to destroy your house and to leave your family, including children and women, out in the open," he told Anadolu Agency.
The basic homes built in Al-Araqib village have been repeatedly demolished since 2010 by the Israeli authorities, which do not recognize the village.
The residents are Arab citizens of Israel. According to legal rights group Adalah, they were displaced in 1951 shortly before the area was declared "state land" by Israel.
They returned in 1998 and have fought through the courts for planting of a forest on the land by the Jewish National Fund.
