ANKARA (AA) — Israeli forces seized control of digital wallets belonging to Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah group, Tel Aviv announced on Tuesday.
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said at a conference that the operation took place a few days ago, with millions of dollars in cryptocurrency seized and transferred to Israel's Treasury.
Gallant added that the digital funds were assets for Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) and Hezbollah, to be used as "terror funds."
Israeli security agencies are in close cooperation to combat the financing of "terrorist groups" using cryptocurrency, he added.
