JERUSALEM (AA) – Former Israeli foreign minister Tzipi Livni is planning to retire from political life, according Israeli newspaper Haaretz on Monday.

Livni will announce her decision about retiring during a planned press conference on Monday, Haaretz said, citing close associates of the former minister.

Livni is currently the leader of the Hatnuah party, which public opinion polls predict that it will not be able to pass the electoral threshold in the April 9 election.

The party vied during the 2015 polls in alliance with the Labor Party before Labor leader Avi Gabai decided to break the partnership earlier this year.

Livni had previously served as the justice minister.

According to Israeli media, Livni worked between 1980 and 1984 with the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, where she carried out unknown operations.
