JERUSALEM/ ISTANBUL (AA) - Israel said Monday that a third meeting of the Joint Military Committee with Morocco was held as part of efforts to enhance security cooperation between the two countries.
A military statement said that the Tel Aviv meeting was concluded with the signing of a joint work plan for 2026, without providing details on the Moroccan military delegation.
It said professional working meetings were held, alongside visits to Israeli army units, defense industries, military units, and relevant departments.
There was no immediate comment from the Moroccan authorities on the Israeli statement.
The statement called the meeting another milestone in deepening security cooperation with Morocco, which Tel Aviv described as a “key partner for regional stability.”
In 2020, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Sudan signed the US-sponsored Abraham Accords to normalize relations with Israel.
In late 2021, Tel Aviv and Rabat signed a security cooperation agreement during a visit by then-Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz to Morocco.
