ANKARA (AA) - The Israeli police on Friday arrested two people suspected of vandalizing a Christian cemetery in occupied East Jerusalem.
At least 30 graves with crosses were recently found toppled and vandalized at the Protestant cemetery on Mount Zion, where Christians believe Jesus's Last Supper took place.
The Israeli police said in a Friday statement that two people aged 14 and 18 were arrested and will be brought to court.
The police identified the incident as an “act of intentional vandalism and defacement.”
Jerusalem holds great importance for all three Abrahamic religions.
