ANKARA (AA) - The growth of Japan's exports increased at a slower pace for four months in a row in September, according to the country's Finance Ministry on Wednesday.

Led by a rise in steel and mineral fuels, exports advanced 13% year-on-year last month, while it was up 26% in August.

Imports to the country jumped 38.6% from the same month last year with a surge in crude oil and pharmaceuticals.

The world's third-largest economy saw a trade deficit for a second consecutive month, reaching $97 billion in September, while the figure had been $104 billion in September 2020.

On a monthly basis, exports slipped by 3.9% this September, it added.
