Jordan reports 73 falling objects amid Iran-US-Israel escalation

Interior Ministry confirms no casualties after debris, missile fragments fell in Amman, Zarqa, Madaba, other regions-Authorities urge public to report suspicious objects as tensions in Middle East escalate following US, Israeli strikes on Iran

AMMAN (AA) - The Jordanian Interior Ministry reported Sunday that 73 incidents involving falling objects and missile debris were recorded nationwide as Iran responded to Israeli and US attacks, with no injuries reported.

A statement by the Jordan Public Security Directorate, affiliated with the ministry, said civil defense and police teams responded to all 73 incidents since Saturday in the regions of Amman, Zarqa, Madaba, West Balqa, Jaresh, Irbid, Aqaba and Central Badia.

It emphasized that the falling objects and debris caused only property damage, with no loss of life.

The directorate urged the public to follow instructions from authorities and to report any suspicious objects.

It stressed that under no circumstances should individuals approach suspicious items.

And the Jordanian Armed Forces announced Saturday that it intercepted 49 unmanned aerial vehicles and ballistic missiles, which it claimed were targeting the country.

-US, Israeli attacks on Iran

Amid negotiations between Iran and the US, Israel and the US launched attacks on Iran early Saturday .

Israel’s Defense Ministry announced that it carried out a “preemptive strike” on Iran, while US President Donald Trump stated that Washington launched a “major operation” against Iran.

The attacks targeted multiple locations in 24 provinces, including the national capital of Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, Karaj, Tabriz, Busheh and Kermanshah.

The Iranian Red Crescent reported that 201 people have died and 747 injured from the attacks.

In response to the US and Israeli strikes, the Iranian military launched counterattacks against Israel using ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Iranian forces also targeted US bases and sites in Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates Kuwait, Qatar and Jordan with missiles and kamikaze drones.
