Jordan to lift restrictions on economy as of Wednesday

No coronavirus cases reported in country over last 24 hour

AMMANi Jordan (AA) - Jordan on Sunday announced that it will lift restrictions on the economy as of Wednesday as the country did not report any new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.

Jordanian Industry and Trade Minister Tariq Hammouri told a news conference that all sectors will resume production.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Saad Jaber announced that no new coronavirus cases were reported in the country over the past 24 hours.

A total of nine people died in the country due to the novel virus and there are 461 COVID-19 cases, while 370 people recovered.

After originating in China last December, the virus has killed more than 246,000 people, with total infections over 3.48 million in 187 countries. Meanwhile, over 1.11 million people have recovered from the disease, according to figures compiled by the US-based Johns Hopkins University.
