AMMAN (AA) - Jordanian King Abdullah II on Thursday met with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian in Amman to discuss the latest regional developments, according to a statement issued by Jordan’s Royal Court.
At the meeting, the two men discussed the Palestine-Israel conflict, with the king stressing the need to resume peace talks based on a two-state solution.
King Abdullah also voiced his country’s appreciation for France’s help in easing the burden on Jordan’s economy caused by the large number of Syrian refugees in the country.
Le Drian arrived in the Hashemite Kingdom late Wednesday and is expected to depart from the country later today.
