GHENT, Belgium (AA) - An exhibition of Anadolu Agency photos and footage taken during Turkey’s July 15 coup attempt has gone on display in the Belgian city of Ghent.

The exhibition, organized by the Turkish associations in the port and university city of northwestern Belgium, opened at the town square on Saturday.

Locals of Ghent as well as tourists in the city gathered at the opening event.

Saturday's exhibition is among many others outside Turkey recounting the historic solidarity displayed by Turkish citizens against the coup attempt six months ago.

Last year on July 15, the failed coup attempt in the country left 248 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.

Turkey accuses the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) – led by Fetullah Gulen, a resident of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania – of organizing the defested July 15 coup as well as a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary.
