KUWAIT CITY (AA) – Members of Kuwait’s new government were sworn in Tuesday before Emir Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, the official KUNA news agency reported.

According to KUNA, the emir called on the government members to "seek and solve the problems of citizens they face in ministries and government departments".

For his part, Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled al-Sabah said that the government will work "on the principle of solidarity and cooperation to face the challenges and serve the country and citizens".

On Nov. 19, Kuwait's emir named Khaled al-Sabah to form a new government, one day after caretaker Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber al-Mubarak declined to be reappointed as a premier.

The previous government had resigned week after a non-confidence vote against the interior minister for alleged corruption.
