BAGHDAD (AA) - Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq al-Ghanim arrived in Baghdad on Thursday for talks with Iraqi officials.

Accompanied by a large delegation, al-Ghanim was received at Baghdad’s international airport by his Iraqi counterpart, Mohammed al-Halbusi.

While in Baghdad, al-Ghanim is slated to meet with several Iraqi officials.

Talks are expected to tackle outstanding differences between the two countries, including continued disputes over territory and the issue of Kuwaiti nationals who went missing during the 1990/91 Gulf War.

On Wednesday, the UN Security Council urged Baghdad to continue exerting "positive efforts" towards resolving its outstanding differences with Kuwait.
