The 33-year-old Bayern Munich forward from Poland bagged his first-ever Golden Shoe as the leading scorer in Europe with 41 Bundesliga goals.

The prestigious award is presented to the top scorer in European domestic football leagues each season.

The first winner was Portuguese legend Esuebio in 1968.

Another Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo, won the prize four times in 2008, 2011, 2014 and 2015.

But Argentinean superstar Lionel Messi has won the honor a record six times in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

The prize was originally presented by French L'Equipe magazine. It has been awarded by the European Sports Media since the 1996–97 season.
