Liberia: Presidential election run-off set for Dec. 26

MONROVIA, Liberia (AA) - The Liberian run-off election opposing former football star George Weah and Vice President Joseph Boakai will take place on Dec. 26, the election commission announced Tuesday. Last Thursday, the Supreme Court ruled that the run-off could proceed following allegations of fraud and irregularities in the first round on Oct. 10. The election’s chairman Jerome Korkoyah Tuesday’s evening said the commission will implement all the 8 counts in the Supreme Court’s mandate to ensure a transparent election.
