ISTANBUL (AA) - Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi received the 2021 Ballon d'Or award Monday for a record seventh time.
Messi was given the coveted award during a ceremony at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, beating Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski and Real Madrid's Karim Benzema.
The Argentine player received the award in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2019, adding one more Ballon d'Or for the Best FIFA Men's Player in 2021.
