ISTANBUL (AA) - The foreign ministers of Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine on Thursday condemned the intrusion of Russian drones into Polish territory as a “deliberate and coordinated strike” that marked an unprecedented escalation.
The ministers said in a statement that Russia’s actions, along with Belarus’ “acquiescence” to the use of its airspace, posed “a direct threat to the security of all nations in the region.”
“Only joint coordinated responses can guarantee the safety of our citizens. We note and appreciate Ukraine’s readiness to share all available intelligence and operational data with Poland, Lithuania and other partners in building an effective system of early warning and defence against Russian missile and drone attacks,” it said, according to Ukraine's Foreign Ministry.
They underlined the need for closer cooperation to strengthen air defense and urged partners to urgently bolster Ukraine’s capabilities while supporting NATO and EU security on the eastern flank.
The ministers also warned of a surge in Russian disinformation after the incident and called on societies to “remain vigilant” against malign attempts to mislead.
