LONDON (AA) – London has activated a Severe Weather Emergency Protocol as it will face subzero temperatures Friday night, the city’s mayor said.
“The temperature is due to drop below freezing tonight, and emergency accommodation is open across the capital for those sleeping rough," Sadiq Khan wrote on US social media company X.
The mayor advised those who typically sleep on the streets or know someone who is to connect to support via StreetLink, a platform that connects people sleeping rough in England and Wales to support services.
Snow is also due to hit London next week.
BBC Weather forecast that the capital will see four days of snow, while Netweather issued a red warning for a strong possibility of snow across London on Wednesday, according to a report by My London.
