Magnitude 4.7 earthquake strikes southern Italy

No immediate reports of casualties, damage

BELGRADE, Serbia (AA) - A magnitude 4.7 earthquake struck southern Italy late Tuesday, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.

The quake occurred at 11.52 p.m. local time (21.52GMT) and its epicenter was located 10 kilometers (6.21 miles) beneath the surface and 13 kilometers (8 miles) from the city of Campobasso, the center reported.

It was felt in surrounding cities and countries including Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
