ISTANBUL (AA) - A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck near the Alaska-Canada border Saturday, the US Geological Survey said.
The quake hit near Alaska's southeastern borough of Yakutat at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) at 2041GMT, according to the government agency.
The earthquake was followed by at least six aftershocks, with the largest measuring magnitude 5.1.
The US Tsunami Warning System said there was no tsunami warning, advisory, watch or threat.
There were also no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
