ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) candidate has been elected mayor of central Kirsehir province.
Selahattin Ekicioglu bagged 30,294 votes, while ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party got 26,633 votes, according to unofficial results.
Earlier on Sunday, millions of Turkish voters cast their votes in the local elections to choose Turkey’s mayors, city council members, mukhtars (neighborhood officials), and members of elder councils for the next five years.
