ANKARA (AA) - Manchester United beat Newcastle United 2-0 to win the 2023 English League Cup (Carabao Cup) on Sunday.
The Red Devils, who were victorious after the first half goals scored by Casemiro, and Newcastle United's Sven Botman (own goal) at London's Wembley Stadium, claimed their first trophy since 2017.
It was Manchester United's sixth Carabao Cup victory.
Manchester United's last success was six years ago when they won the 2017 UEFA Europa League under the helm of Jose Mourinho.
They previously secured the League Cup in the same season, a few months before their Europa League triumph in Stockholm.
Meanwhile, Dutch national Erik ten Hag, 53, who was hired in 2022, won his first trophy as a Manchester United manager.
