AL ARISH, Egypt/ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) carried out meticulous coordination to ensure the safe delivery of humanitarian aid unloaded from Türkiye’s 17th “Goodness Ship” to the Rafah crossing.
The 17th “Goodness Ship” is part of Türkiye’s ongoing humanitarian efforts to deliver relief as humanitarian suffering deepens in Gaza, continuing a series of aid missions sent since the start of the crisis.
A total of 900 tons of humanitarian aid, coordinated by AFAD with the support of 17 nongovernmental organizations, were unloaded at Egypt’s Al Arish Port after two days of work and loaded onto 52 trucks bound for the Rafah crossing.
AFAD teams supervised the 24-hour operations in the field, ensuring the safe and orderly delivery of aid supplies that included baby food, ready-to-eat meals, and canned goods.
To maintain transparency and traceability, each truck’s cargo, NGO of origin, license plate, and driver details were recorded and documented at Al Arish Port, completing the shipment process as planned.
