ISTANBUL / A5 Defense Magazine and the International Military Sports Council (CISM) will jointly present a new "Friendship through Sport" trophy at the 25th CISM World Military Equestrian Championship in Cairo, Egypt.
The initiative, led by A5 Defense Magazine owner Ipek Ipek and CISM Secretary-General Roberto Recchia, aims to highlight the unifying power of military sports and recognize the spirit of fair play among servicemembers from 140 countries.
The trophy will be presented after a symbolic match scheduled as part of the championship, which will take place from May 3 to 9.
“'Friendship through Sport' is more than a competition prize,” Ipek said.
“It symbolizes the gathering of military athletes from around the world in a spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie,” she noted, adding: “Military sports serve as a vital bridge for global peace.”
Türkiye’s Armed Forces Sports Team is also set to participate in the event and is among the teams nominated for the award.
The collaboration seeks to promote the role of military athletics in fostering global understanding and unity.
