NEW YORK (AA) - More than 20 people were killed and at least 100 people others wounded during a mass shooting at a concert in Las Vegas city late Sunday night, according to law enforcement early Monday.

The sole suspect of the shooting has been killed at the hotel from across the outdoor concert, Sheriff Joseph Lambardo from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department told reporters.

The police are not looking for additional suspects but a female "companion" of the suspect, who remains unidentified, is being sought, Lambardo said.

The FBI is involved in the ongoing investigation, but officials made no reference to terrorism.

The shooting is the worst on U.S. soil since the Orlando mass shooting in June, 2016, which killed 49 people.
