RABAT (AA) - Host nation Morocco advanced to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final after beating Nigeria on penalties, following a goalless draw Wednesday.

Neither team was able to break the deadlock in 90 minutes or extra time, and the match was decided by penalties at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

The Atlas Lions booked their place in the final, winning 4-2.

Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou saved two spot kicks for Morocco, keeping out efforts from Samuel Chukwueze and Bruno Onyemaechi.

Hamza Igamane was the only Moroccan player to miss his penalty.

Morocco and Senegal will meet Sunday in the final at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.
