Multinational Rapid Trident ’19 drill starts in Ukraine

3600 service personnel from 14 countries taking part in the two-week exercises

MOSCOW (AA) - The international Rapid Trident 2019 military exercises started in Lviv region of Ukraine on Friday, said the country’s General Staff.

The multinational drill is seeing some 3,600 service personnel and 600 units of military equipment from 14 countries taking part in the two-week exercises.

Among the countries participating the drill are the U.S., the U.K., Turkey, Bulgaria, and Moldova, according to Ukraine’s General Staff.

The U.S. also sent its special squad “Delta” to the training event led by the Ukrainian command.

The drill will run through Sept. 28, “to train the skills of repelling an aggression in the conditions of a hybrid war,” said the statement.
