YANGON, Myanmar (AA) - A military cargo plane carrying soldiers and their families on Wednesday has gone missing in Myanmar’s southern coastal region, official media said.
The plane Y-8-200F with 120 on board -- 106 of them were soldiers and their family members -- lost connection during a flight from southern town of Myeik in Tanintharyi region to Myanmar’s largest city Yangon, said the office of the military commander-in-chief in a statement.
“Four naval ships and two military planes are carrying out a search and rescue operation,” it added.
