ANKARA (AA) - 10-time NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony has become a Portland Trail Blazers player on Tuesday, the Western Conference franchise confirmed.

"Carmelo is an established star in this league that will provide a respected presence in our locker room and a skill set at a position of need on the floor," Trail Blazers' President of Basketball Operations Neil Olshey said on the club website.

It is said that Anthony will wear No. 00 in the Trail Blazers.

The 35-year-old power forward averaged 24 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3 assists in 1,064 NBA games throughout his career.

A true NBA veteran, Anthony has spent 16 seasons in this division, playing for Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets.

He last played for Houston Rockets, playing only in 10 games for the franchise last season, before being a free agent.

In addition, Anthony was the NBA’s scoring champion in 2012-13 when he averaged 28.7 points for New York Knicks.

Meanwhile, Anthony helped the U.S. Basketball Team win three Olympic gold medals in Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016 as well as a bronze medal in Athens 2004.
