TOKYO (AA) - North Korea launched a suspected ballistic missile toward its eastern waters, according to South Korean media on Wednesday.
South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said that the missile was launched from Sunan near the capital Pyongyang to the Sea of Japan at 12:03 p.m. local time (0303GMT), Yonhap News Agency reported.
According to Japan’s public broadcaster NHK, the Japanese Defense Ministry announced that the missile fell outside the Japanese national exclusive zone.
Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio instructed the relevant institutions to carry out possible damage assessment studies on ships and aircraft in the region.
With the latest test, North Korea has tested a missile for the 14th time since the beginning of this year.
