MOSCOW (AA) - Ahead of tomorrow's summit, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un arrived on Wednesday in the Russian Pacific city of Vladivostok by armored train.
At the railway station, Kim was solemnly welcomed by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov and Oleg Kozhemyako, the region's governor, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
An orchestra played North Korea’s national hymn, and honor guards greeted Kim on a red carpet.
Addressing the Russian welcome delegation, Kim said he hoped his visit to Russia would be useful.
He added that he and Russian President Vladimir Putin would discuss bilateral cooperation and resolution on the Korean Peninsula.
On his way to Vladivostok, Kim visited a museum built in honor of his father's visit to Russia.
This is Kim's first visit to Russia, and is set to last through Saturday.
