ANKARA (AA) - The unemployment rate in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) area pulled back to its pre-coronavirus level of 5.3% this January.
The unemployment rate remained unchanged compared to the revised December figure, according to a statement from the Paris-based group on Thursday.
The number of unemployed people across the OECD area rose by 300,000 from February 2020, reaching 35.9 million in January 2022, it said.
The figure for women was 5.5% and 5.2% for men.
The OECD area youth unemployment rate -- people aged 15 to 24 -- rose to 11.3% in January from 11.2% in the previous month.
