The OMNEX 2026 Oman-Türkiye Business Forum and International Trade Fair, aimed at elevating economic and commercial ties between Türkiye and Oman, will bring together business communities from both countries in Oman’s capital Muscat on Feb. 2-4.

The fair, for which Anadolu is the global communications partner, will be held in Muscat, the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEIK) said Monday.

According to the statement, around 200 large-scale companies are expected to participate in the event, which aims to pave the way for new collaborations and contracts worth billions of dollars across strategic sectors including defense, advanced technology, energy, construction, industry, infrastructure, health, tourism, food, agriculture, furniture, and textiles.

Held within the framework of Oman’s “Vision 2040,” the event reflects the country’s modernization drive to move beyond being solely an energy exporter and position itself as a regional technology and logistics hub linking the Indian Ocean with the Gulf region.

DEIK said OMNEX 2026 will serve as a strategic platform to deepen and make Türkiye–Oman economic and commercial relations more sustainable.

The opening ceremony, hosted by Omani Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion Qais Mohammed Moosa Al Yousef, is expected to draw ministers, senior government officials and leading business figures from both countries.

OMNEX 2026 aims to support the establishment of new partnerships and strengthen existing ones by bringing diplomatic and economic relations directly to the business world.

Türkiye will participate in the fair as the “guest of honor country,” with officials saying the country is preparing to be among the strongest participants. Turkish companies are targeting a $5 billion annual trade volume through new partnerships to be established with Oman and other regional markets.

DEIK noted that this target positions OMNEX 2026 not merely as a trade fair, but as a strategic gateway for Turkish firms seeking regional growth.

The Türkiye-Oman Business Forum, organized jointly by DEIK and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is expected to play a key role in facilitating high value-added cooperation, offering direct contact, one-on-one meetings and concrete partnership opportunities in sectors such as defense, energy, tourism, health and real estate.

Yunus Ete, chairman of the DEIK Türkiye–Oman Business Council, said OMNEX 2026 marks a new phase in bilateral economic relations.

“With the participation of Türkiye’s Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Simsek and Omani Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion Qais Mohammed Moosa Al Yousef, the Joint Economic Commission meeting demonstrated the strong foundation of cooperation between the two countries,” Ete said.

He added that OMNEX 2026 would be one of the most tangible platforms reflecting this strategic momentum in the business sphere.

Ete also highlighted Oman’s appeal as an investment destination, citing its political stability, fixed currency regime, investor-friendly regulations and access to Gulf Cooperation Council and global markets through its free trade agreement with the US.

“Oman is not only a market for Turkish companies, but a strategic investment hub offering access to the Gulf region, East Africa and global markets,” he said.
