MANISA, Turkey (AA) - At least 1,075 liters of bootleg alcohol were seized in western Turkey, a security source said on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip-off, local gendarmerie teams raided two different addresses in the Turgutlu district of Manisa province, said the source on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
The operation seized 907 liters of bootleg wine, 130 liters of ethyl alcohol, 17 liters of whisky, 16 liters of raki -- a Turkish alcoholic drink -- 5 liters of vodka and various materials used in the production of alcohol, the source added.
Two suspects were also arrested and later released after their statements were recorded.
