Over 235 kg marijuana seized in northwestern Turkey

Drugs confiscated at Kapikule customs gate at the Turkish-Bulgarian border

EDIRNE, Turkey (AA) - Over 235 kilograms (518 pounds) of marijuana was seized during anti-drug operations in northwestern Turkey's Edirne province, according to a security source on Friday.

Police confiscated the marijuana in a truck at the Kapikule customs gate at Turkish-Bulgarian border, said the source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

Six suspects were remanded over trading drugs.
