ISLAMABAD (AA) - A deadly earthquake has killed 255 people in eastern Afghanistan, official media said Wednesday.
The tremors shook parts of Barmala, Ziruk, Naka and Gayan districts of Paktika province bordering Pakistan, state-run Bakhtar News Agency reported, adding that 155 people were also wounded.
Afghan officials said the death toll could rise further without urgent emergency assistance.
