BURSA/BALIKESIR, Turkey (AA) - At least 730 liters of bootleg alcohol were confiscated Wednesday by police in western Turkey.
Acting on a tip off, provincial police teams in the province Bursa raided a dwelling, confiscating 420 liters of bootleg alcohol.
During the operation, one suspect was arrested for allegedly making the bootleg alcohol.
Separately, in another western province Balikesir, provincial gendarmerie forces seized 310 liters of bootleg alcohol.
Gendarmerie teams arrested one suspect, who was allegedly selling the bootleg alcohol.
Bootleg alcohol is made using low-cost methyl alcohol instead of ethyl alcohol, which can cause serious harm and even death.
