KARACHI, Pakistan (AA) – At least 29 people were killed and over 50 injured when two passenger buses collided head-on in northeastern Pakistan on Monday morning, officials and local media reported.
The crash happened in the Punjab province when a speeding bus crashed with another carrying local college students, reported local channel Express News TV.
Authorities fear the death toll may rise as many of the injured are said to be in critical condition.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, more than 50,000 people were killed in road accidents from 2004 to 2013.
