ANKARA (AA) – Pakistan’s outgoing ambassador to Turkey, Suhail Mahmood, visited the Anadolu Agency headquarters in Ankara on Thursday, a final time before he leaves his post next week.
The ambassador was welcomed by the agency’s Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Director General Metin Mutanoglu, Foreign Languages Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Ozturk and International News Editor-in-Chief Omer Faruk Tokat.
Ambassador Mahmood, who has been serving in Ankara since March 2015, praised Anadolu Agency.
“Flowering relations will continue to expand I hope,” he said thanking to Anadolu Agency for its efforts to bring Pakistan and Turkey closer.
Mahmood also praised Anadolu Agency’s “tremendous coverage of Turkey’s internal developments and foreign policy developments”.
Mahmood highlighted the significance of national news agencies and said: “Anadolu Agency is doing a great service for the [Turkish] nation because it is very important for people in the world to learn Turkey’s story from Turkey’s perspective.”
